Entering it's sixth season on the XBOX, Virtual Formula Drift is noticed as North America's virtual drifting championship series. This high-skilled, virtual high-powered motor sport where drivers intentionally maneuver their cars into well executed, controlled sideways slides at high speeds through a marked course, has virtual veteran drivers and teams competing in seven championship rounds/ events.
Judged on execution and style, rather than who finishes the course in the fastest time. Drifting is a guaranteed crowd pleaser, and is often compared to the freestyle nature of skateboarding and motocross. The motorsport of drifting is getting popular by each year in virtual and real life.
In 2010, Virtual Formula Drift was created on Forza Motorsports 3 as a drift competition. Drifters were on high demand of a new series after the ending of the popular FMDA tournaments. The first couple of events went good, and the staff decided to run a full season. Every season leading up to the upcoming season has brought great virtual drifters from all across the world to showcase their skills on the track.
Virtual Formula Drift has achieved it's way to being the best Forza Motorsports drifting competition for the past couple of years. This has paved new events to be formed on Forza. Virtual formula drift was the first virtual drift series on Forza to complete a season. This series was the first to create a Virtual Pro Am for drifters can develop their skills, and responsible for hosting the most virtual drifting events on Forza. Virtual Formula Drift has the most diverse driver field (nationality, age and gender) of any drifting series in the world and field of competition cars (year, make and model) of any drifting series in the world.
From this point on we can only get better as a organization, and Virtual Formula Drift thanks everyone that shows their support in the series what it is today. We would not be where we are at today if it wasn't for our previous sponsors giving us a lending hand for prizes. This upcoming season prizes and payouts will be better.
